Never back down!

On the last Saturdays of month, I and my friends go to Home for Old Aged.
When I and Hyunju reached there, Anil sir who was the supervisor of today had already come. He informed one bad news to us. We could see all people are busy with their work to decorate the place for one function. So, I wondered we can do our work or not.



While waiting for permission, I was talking with grandfathers in there. One of them knows me very well. Every time, he greets me happily. He was watering flower bed. By seeing his manner, being steady, I got very important idea. We should be steady in doing our work in proper position though it cannot be revealed. That is consideration and thought for others.


Anil sir said ‘People mind is unpredictable. Also, each person’s thought is very different.’ We tried to do our service and work. But, it was not allowed by sisters who are in charge of Home for Old aged. From the unexpected words, I could think about Ethical issue. We have permission for our service on every last Saturday of month. We wanted to do service but, they didn’t want or need. So, we couldn’t finish our work. But, our effort and attempt will never die. This time, we couldn’t do it but we tried.
I don’t think we didn’t do anything. Though it is discouraged, we will do the best.

Challenging!

12:20 pm, our tuition has started. Last time, we planned to solve adopted questions. So, I got some questions for him.

For further knowledge, I and Murnal started adopting concepts which we have studied to another concept by solving such exercises or questions. The start is very difficult because we had just studied each concept only. But, from now, we will walk new way to increase our ability to adopt and skill which is needed to solve such question in any subject. I teach him math but, I will help him think critically and logically in any other subjects and in life. I hope he understands and follows me well. For that, of course, I must prepare and be ready to help him properly. As Prashant sir who was the supervisor of today, told us that ‘Teacher’ should be prepared properly for teaching, otherwise, the ‘Learner’ might lose the way and will be confused in knowledge’s flood. This time, I could remind myself once more about ‘The role of Teacher/Leader’

We have got a new challenge. I and Hyunju, actually, we, both, taught only one student together because of the wall of language. Except Murnal who learns from us, others cannot understand English properly. They are learning English, Math or Science through their mother tongue, Marathi or Hindi. But, one of us should take one student because of the absence of our friend. Sp, Hyunju started teaching him. He could not understand properly at first. Little by little, they understood each other. She tried to explain properly and he tried to understand. It was really nice experience for us.
I could get a new light indirectly. There must be a way when we try to find it. Personally, I think the language will never make the problem or wall. Though my student does not understand my language, I’ll explain him by drawing the diagram, using body language, or learning their language. The mind or prejudice which creates the ban occur the problem. Prashant sir also told us this will be a good challenge and chance which help us overcome. Also, because he was learning Math, I proposed her the way-use many diagrams.

Day by day, we find ourselves who are growing up and the way which helps ourselves grow up. Now, it became quite easier than before to think about our progress and improvement. Moreover, we make a plan together for next time. I try to give him maximum information as much as I can. I really look forward to find another outcome by solving any problems which them!

The EXIT to overcome our difficulties.

Another responsibility is keeping a promise especially, ‘Appointment’ with others. It is very important to keep a promise on time.

By teaching him and considering his conditions, abilities of learning, I could feel his abilities are developing step by step. It makes me feeling amazing! According to his ability, my attitude or the type of teaching must be changed. So, I can consider how I should take my position with him. Besides, the time which I and Murnal can spend for study is fixing. When I taught him at the first time we were lack of time for finishing one chapter or one concept. But, we have enough time to finish up our studies. This is a very good challenge for both of us. Actually, I could not be sure about our studies. But, I haven’t hesitated at all for developing and overcoming such difficulties. Finally, we found the ‘EXIT’ with our efforts.

Finally, I and Murnal could find the concepts are piling one by one and there are adopted questions. So, we will have a small test next time with what we studied till now. This will be another challenge for us to find our weakness and strength.

Also, I and my friends could make a plan in detail. Last time, we all were really enjoying by learning and doing art with colours. They want to do it many times. So, we decided to have a temporary time for learning art. It will be held on first Saturdays of a month.

I really wonder what we will make after some time and what we will create soon.
I do not know anything but, I can expect we will do something good! I'm really waiting for next Saturday...

New Expression, New Interaction

On Thursday, I took all required stuff such brushes (round and flat), papers, water colours etc for today. I should get them and keep them well as I’ve taken my responsibility.

Firstly, we brushed up Math which is the main course of studies between I and Mrunal, my student. We finished our construction of quadrilateral. As soon as finishing Math, we started arranging for Art class.

“For making variety colours, we use primary colour which is the basic of colours i.e. Red, Yellow, and Blue....” Our art class was started with my explanation. They should know slight idea-at least what we will do-though I think art shouldn’t be involved as a class or teaching. As I, Hyunju, and Aditi have learnt new skill in touching prints with brush on Thursday for CAS period, I tried to explain what I’ve learnt and what we have planned. The name of new skill was ‘Stroke’. I and my friends could let them know how creative expression can be described in different ways. We made such masterpieces like Birthday cards, invitation card or finger-painted pictures. Also, I really appreciated they are already aware of their responsibility how they use others’ stuff.

In fact, I had no idea in doing Art class with all of them. I wondered how we could do with them, we could not let all do but let partial of them do. Contrary to my expectations or worry, however, we could do it altogether! Ah...I almost forgot another learning outcome. Collaboration! How wonderful it is. Even we had no fight at all while sharing our materials and all.

Make unexpected work as an expected work!

WOW! Do you know what happened since 12. January. 2011? The member of NEWS LETTER has decreased. From this time, DP1 only would take all works of NEWS LETTER.

I’ll never be depressed though number of member has decreased. At the first meeting for NEWS LETTER, Prashant sir who are in charge of NEWS LETTER told us that we should take many responsibilities and duties for this work since DP2, our senior, will not do work with us anymore. Also, this work will be very hard as this is the first work of us. But, I thought, ‘Now, It’s time to take another new role which I hadn’t taken ever.’ I cannot but think about new learning outcome from my first try. It would really help me in any ways.

For our responsibilities and duties, I and my friends should make clear about our deadline. As the NEWS LETTER is not for us only but for public, we should pay attention to all events and news of school. Our all drops and hard efforts must be needed for making impressed first one, especially, taking photos and recording all events must be appreciated.

This time, I wanted to do another work for the NEWS LETTER. I think if we should do this work, taking hard work and effort is better than doing less work or nothing. So, I’ve decided to be a Designer! For designing, I should learn how to use devices-Micro Office Publisher. Besides, involving collaboration is another important thing though we are 4 members only. Especially, we discussed deeply for making a good name of NEWS LETTER. Our creative thinking and discussion were needed. When we put the name on the first page of NEWS LETTER we were really impressed because we made that name and it seemed to be nice. It is ‘I Beeez…’.

 After publication I could get many challenges. For the next NEWS LETTER, I and my friends have discussed about new pages like post others’ pieces or works. I’d like to have a big clap for our first work. Now, I and my friends got another challenge to face any work. We will surely publish our second NEWS LETTER better than this time.
