Help Old-aged/handicapped people-2nd group project

Now, it is time to get another course in life!
I'm READY. What can I learn from this activity!!!!?

At 8:40 am, I and Hyunju left to meeting place. About 1 month ago, one man visited our school to imform the Help Old Age. He said, 'Now, we should show it by our own hands and help them as a member in same century.' So, we decided to volunteer for them as well as a CAS activity.
This time is the first time to go 'Home for aged and handicapped, Untkhana, Nagpurl'. However, it is not a first time for me to go that kind of place. My family likes to go to volunteer for old-aged/handicapped people. So, we used to go nursing places, children shelter, etc. I was thinking my parents wanted to let me know 'What the life is'. They wanted to teach by doing activities with them, seeing how they're living 'how I have to live'. At that time, I couldn't realize it. Those works were hard, they weren't clean and I thought they are different from us. But, I was a different. I had a prejudice. All people in the world are equal. The difference is what they have, what are given to them only. After realizing those, I really look forward to do anything in my life. I must do those works whatever I could do. That's why I've waited for doing this work.

Also, I want to put one more thing. Keeping the promise, especially of time, is very important. We shouldn't interfere with other people. Not keeping the promise could mean a person does not respect the other person in relationship. Yesterday, we promised to meet at 9:30 am. But, some people didn't keep the promise so we had to wait. We cannot live separately so we should respect each other and keep the promise.

Today, we were just looking around where this place is. That place is clean and rounded well. CAS coordinater chiranjeet sir said,'Well rounded place and many plants help them keep calm mind. It is good for therapy.' We were meeting old-aged/handicapped people by saying 'Namaste!'.  Especially, I really enjoyed with children. I wanted to be with them more. It was so happy with them though we couldn't understand each other because of language problem. But, we actually could understand each other with mind. I think language is not a problem. I'll try to say in Hindi and teach them English(even Korean!!!!!). I could conversate with helping of Deepshiri ma'am. She would let me know basic Hindi to conversate with them.

Afterwards, I and my colleagues are going to go there at once of months. Whenever we are going to go there before, I'll plan specifically-how to approach to them, what I could do with them. Right now, we could just wait for them until they would open up their mind, wounds... I promise I'll wait for them with hearing their story or telling my story as much as I could.

Wonderful, Dasom. I am so glad to see you thinking and doing introspection in this manner. Believe me, you and your friends will make a world of difference in their lives once you start bonding with the elderly. Language is no barrier when there is understanding and empathy.

try and build up a trust with the elderly and the small handicapped children and see how much of love and warmth they shower back on you.

I appreciate how much of sincerity you and Hyunju showed by showing up much before time for your Service work, the eagerness you showed in dealing with the children. Do keep posting detailed feedback on your subsequent visits, besides noting down the learning outcomes, difficulties faced and overcome. You could also mention any team work that you did.

Cheers!
