I'm teaching Math in earnest!

We are advancing! Now, we know what we have to do to advance our skill in teaching and learning. Also, we know what we need and which one does lack. So, from next week, we decided to solve another questions which I'll prepare. I'll bring some application problems, exercises.

Another advanced thing is Hyunju and I got some idea "how to teach our student by dividing our work." We do not make him confused but help him understand well. We are getting some idea-better way to teach ,effective way.

Sometimes, I ask him, "Which more do you like between solving math and learning orgami?". Then, he alwyas says solving math, reading books is better. That is one of learning things which I have to learn from him. He has less conditions than me. But, he thanks everything and wants to learn more and more even he is in poor conditions. The best important thing is he does not complain his lacks, given conditions. He is better than me even though he does have less knowledges than me. From my childhood, there is some words which my parents have wanted to say. 'Become human being.' If you don't know and do not want to know how to think about others, it  is inferior to animals though you have so many information and knowledges. I cannot but thank all given things even though it is poor or difficult to overcome. Starting from thank, I can do, and I can overcome any circumstances!

See, Show, Follow your talents!

Whatever I do, whenever I experience, the all thing motivate me and I can learn more from them.

 Talent show is similar with festival which I had done in Korea. In Korea, most of schools(element, middle, high school, and even college and university also) open the festivals at the end of the year(around November or December). At that time, someone who wants to be participated or has talent enters oneself for it and then show own's on the stage. I'd also taken part in the instrumental team a few times, that time was a little diffrent from this time. Then, I played with my friends(flutes, violins, piano, etc) but now, there was only one violin player, me! Honestly, at that time, there were many instruments and did with my friends so I couldn't have tension and could sustain the comfortable conditions but now, we had to make harmony with only one instrument each so I felt a little nervous. (Ah, I really thank for supporting and cheering of supervisor Chloe ma'am in this event, as I and my team feel tense. She doesn't only gave us advices and tips-how we could be better between this practicing but in normal.)

Before having the talent show, we had to heve practice together in few days. However, I really thank for the annoyed and enjoyed practice! For practice, we foregathered after school even though all were tired and had bad conditions. But, we have to think in this, I can't live alone i.e. we do not think about only I but think about each other(=others).
 
Making harmony as like one sound by becoming one mind and one heart. I won't forget this feeling. It was very full and I really thank for children who paraticed with me(Hyun-i, Do yeon, Ju yoen, Nuri). Also, I realized another thing. Although this talent show was a big festival, for this, I needed to practice hard. I want to say it by expending, for very small thing, we have to be attent, be careful, and be thankful... I really thank for reminding it which is essential in living with others of me by doing this practice and show.

Completing masterpiece!

'Do you know why we are learning the orgami?'
'Hmm..I don't know well...'
'So, what did you get by learning it? You could teach others this skill!'
'Ah.. yes, yes, and I can make it any shapes which I want to make of these colour papers.'
'Right! Also, this activity could help your brain developed. You know what? Using your hands or fingers could help developing your brain and we could think more creativity!....'

My teaching started with some questions. When we'd prepared these orgami parts with CAS supervisor Deepshri ma'am, we also were asked some questions by ma'am and by ourselves. Ma'am said, 'It is very important thing to ask yourself or to anyone who is taught  why we are doing this and what can we get from this work?'

I really agree. We have to know why we do this and what could we get by doing this. Otherwise, we could fall in dillema, getting bored, annoying with asking 'WHY WE HAVE TO DO THIS?' as I didn't get the purpose when I did ground deelopment. Also, clear purpose and plan helps us do harder and aware of what we will get.

Today, we made stories using orgami. We made houses, pond, birds, dogs, flowers, etc., with colour papers and put them on the big jar. I requested them to try to make story using this. When I was 4 or 5 grade, I really liked making stories with using those which I made. At that time, I couldn't aware of it, it helps me think creative and imagine a lot of things. After sometime, I could realize the fact. So, I wanted these children also to think creative and feel it as I've felt.

CAS coordinator Bhattacharyya Chiranjeet as well as my English sir said, 'Keeping the feeling which you got by doing creative activity in your mind is not the CAS work/real earning. You have to show, teach, be known others by practicing on your hands.'

Yes, I know affecting on others is very important and amazing thing! After that, we could see many changes in parts of our life. It helps each other between them and I. I'm still learning how to become effective person.

For the Nation for the motherland!

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the republic of Korea and to the free and righteous nation's glory with full loyalty.   

 Today it's a Independence day of India and Korea. So, we all attended school and performed somethings which had practiced for today. We did very awesome one and all our best! As a participation, I played the violin to sing the Korea National anthem, swore as an assistant head girl, and greeted for thanks. All others danced, sang a song, and did a conte to celebrate this delight day. Especially, speeching in public is my special, first experience. Of course, I had done many public speech in my country in Korean. But, this time I must speech in front of foriegners in English(I hope there would be no misunderstand. I just used 'foreigner' to describe my circumstance.) In my case, I practiced about how to walk, what and where is my position, attitude. CAS coordinator Chiranjeet sir as well as english teacher, CAS supervisor Deepshre ma'am, Chloe ma'am, Jha sir, and many other teachers encouraged me and led and helped us to do our best. Contactor, Jackson Joy sir, as well as CAS supervisor, gave a lead and let us know what we do. Before doing this celebrity, we had practiced and had rehearsal for 2 days. So, we had to attend school on Saturday. But, this weekend is not vain and though we did only 2 days, we tried our best!
 Also, before reaching the school, I could see the marchings. All students and teachers who were wearing the uniforms were marching along the road as blowing the flag! It was very impressed me because in Korea, I could see the marching only on TV. These all were really nice. To me, it was new Independence Day.

But, in this ceremony, we , I could think and learn their mind and spirit to celebrate their Independence Day! This is really good mind which we have to take. Own country is important for the public. In fact, in Korea, like this public holiday, is just holiday for the most of people. They, including me, just take the rest and enjoy "The holiday". 'When we were young, around 1970-80, we respected our country and we had to be faithful to our country, even though we had forced it to respect. That was an important thing to do which we should do. But, now Age,generation are changing and the habit, customs of people are changed by developing, individualism, and materialism. Now, we must learn this posture. Look, these two country has the same special day but each are doing differently so much!!' my parents said. I really agreed about it. Now, we can think about one thing. Own country is very cherish for its own people. But, most of the people don't aware of this important truth. In my case, I'm living in India which is not my fatherland. I think that's why I could think more about this. We have to thank for own country. We have own country, We have own mothertongue, We have our National Anthem, and so on. If we don't have fatherland, we do have nothing as the base. Nation is a base of people.

Every times, comparing India to Korea is inevitable but by doing this, I'm getting wider thinking and real open-mind and the power of think to other society in various ways. Afterwords, for me, there will be so many things to think and compare. I really look forward to face those, really...

Second time must be different...

This second time, I went there with hoping to find out something different.

You can't get well what something different is..?  That would be so many things. Most of them, especially, I want to see my different attitude and children having equable smile. They were never awkward greeting me and talking with me any more though this was just second time. The biggest change is we do not stand seperately like dividing Black&White. It is expected what we would change, how we would go together, how we should do for challenging.

At the first time, I really felt heavy because this was my first teaching. Even I had no idea how to start. But, we started by taking one topic. The topic of today was CIRCLE. The properties of circle, how can we apply the properties of circle, etc.. I and Hyunju had took on one student. I'd worried about his understanding because there is only one student but teachers are two. So, the student could be confused. In this case, we could say so many information would make us confused(It is not necessarily good). Our supervisor Prashant sir also advised the role and his understanding. Besides, today, Aalya, one of my friends, taught him together with us. So, there were three teachers and only one student! Finally, we faced 'the worrying'. There was one problem and we tried to explain the solution together. But, we had different solution each other. When we were explaining it, he was getting confused. We had to stop the explaining and talked about how we would explain... It was really not good way. We should have decided the teaching way and made pre-plans. I'm really sorry for him as well as get some idea for teaching.

After finishing the class, I gave him to paper piano with writing the name of my student which I'd folded for him. The paper piano is not just paper. It is a dream. I wanted to give him hope and dream. These kinds of words look like pretending or common thing to someone because these children and my position/condition is completely different. But, I cordially want them to have aggressive and positive mind. If they do not have that mind, I would help them think BIG! I feel we have good start.

I don't want to lose this step and this feelings. Once I would decide to be engaged in this study with them, I think I already have one reason to make change in both of us. I know sometimes I would face some problems like discourages, annoying, boring, or their sickness and so on. But, if I have stable mind which I have to take in doing this kind of work, I'll overcome those problems and do it well. Furthermore, I'm really happy to be with them!

Creating the monthly e- newsletter

Today, I became a part of the team bringing out the NEWS LETTER of our school. We decided to divide the CAS team into two teams and each team will take turns to produce the Newsletter each month. I'm so happy to be involved in this activity because I'll know how to edit the news and which article stands in order of importance. We all will be working as a team, learning from each other, helping each other in our problem areas. I did initially find it hard to communicate what I wanted to reflect in the newsletter but soon, I started writing down my contents and having it edited so that I can do things correctly.

The newsletter editing and content posting is a very serious work, and it has already instilled a sense of commitment in me, working towards meeting deadlines, making sure other team members are not faltering in their responsibility, and generally trying to create a positive atmosphere in our team.
